Plays & Players Theatre

Theaters & performance spaces in Philadelphia

·1714 Delancey St, Philadelphia, PA 19103, USA

Tucked just off Rittenhouse Square, Plays & Players Theatre occupies a 1913 landmark building designed by Amos W. Barnes, complete with Edith Emerson’s classical murals of Ariadne and Dionysos in the auditorium. For 114 years, this membership collective has nurtured local talent while welcoming visiting companies for comedy, dance, and music in both the main theatre and Quig’s Pub. The same space that hosted the First Korean Congress in 1919 and premiered Stalag 17 in 1949 continues to serve as a working creative hub for contemporary artists and audiences.
