Maggie Mae's has anchored Sixth Street since 1978, and it's less a bar than a small district — four historic buildings restored and connected into one of downtown Austin's largest entertainment venues. Each room keeps its own character: an authentic English pub built for conversation, a sports bar lined with big screens, a New Orleans–style courtyard open to the sky, and stages running live music most nights of the week. Upstairs, the Rooftop Deck was the first on Sixth Street and remains its largest, with a full stage, multiple bars, skyline views over the whole strip, and room for around 300. Five bars across the property keep a crowd from stacking up in one place, and the layout lets a group take a single room or spread across the entire building.
