Blackfriar Pub has held its corner of McKinney Avenue since 2003, set in an old frame house whose front yard is now a beer garden looking out over the cobblestone street. The interior carries a story most bars can't: ornate antique woodwork salvaged from the Hard Rock Cafe's VIP room next door, which came originally from an English castle owned by Pete Townshend and was shipped to Dallas in 1982. Under it sits a proper Irish pub — deep beer list, craft cocktails, cheese boards, sliders, and the fish and chips the place is known for. Two levels with patios on both give a group room to claim its own space, and the large dog-friendly patio runs heaters through winter and stays full through game days. It's an official supporters' bar for several clubs, a reliable Sunday brunch, and a fit for watch parties, birthdays, and private buyouts alike.
