Underground Arts is a two room, 12,000 square foot music and performance venue built into a former industrial space on Callowhill Street in Philadelphia. The Main Room centers on a 22 by 20 foot stage with full stage lighting and a professional audio system, and holds concerts most nights of the week. The Black Box is a separate back lounge with built in booths, flexible seating, and an 11 by 15 foot projection screen, and both rooms have their own full bar with draft beer plus a satellite bar in the Main Room. For private events, Underground Arts rents either room individually or as a full building buyout, with the in house staging, lighting, and sound included in the rental rather than billed separately. The venue hosts birthday parties, corporate events, bar and bat mitzvahs, weddings, reunions, banquets, and film screenings in addition to its regular concert programming, and sits in the Callowhill neighborhood just north of the Reading Viaduct in Center City Philadelphia.
