Silk City Diner Bar & Lounge

Silk City combines a classic diner car, a cocktail lounge, and an enclosed exterior garden inside one building at 5th and Spring Garden in Northern Liberties. The diner car itself dates to 1952, built by the Paterson Dining Company in New Jersey and installed at this location in 1954 next to what was then a separate cocktail lounge. Today the three spaces operate together, with a kitchen serving diner classics and more composed dishes, a bar program running through the lounge, and a regular live music and DJ calendar that runs most nights of the week. The site offers each of its three distinct areas, the diner, the lounge, and the garden, for private booking, and its own private-parties page lists cocktail parties, rehearsal dinners, corporate dinners, and holiday events as typical uses. Guests can request information through a private-parties form with a stated 48-hour response window. The building sits at the edge of Northern Liberties near the Spring Garden stop on the Market-Frankford Line.
