Tavern on Camac has operated in the Gayborhood since 1925, making it the longest continually running LGBTQ establishment in Philadelphia. The building's main floor holds the piano bar itself, which has run continuously since at least 1935 and is considered the oldest piano bar in the city, with a live performer on the bench every night from 4pm to 2am playing showtunes and pop standards. Below the piano bar sits a restaurant space, and above it the Ascend nightclub adds a third floor of DJ-driven dancing on select nights, making the building a three-level complex under one roof. The venue accepts inquiries for private events through its website, drawing on its multiple floors and long entertainment history for groups looking for a distinctive Center City space. Located on Camac Street a block off Locust, Tavern on Camac sits in the middle of the Gayborhood's cluster of LGBTQ bars and restaurants.
