The Switch House occupies a former PECO electrical substation at The Battery, a riverfront development in Fishtown along the Delaware River. Cescaphe Event Group converted the roughly 20,000 square foot building into an event venue while keeping much of its industrial character: twenty foot iron windows, sandblasted concrete walls, and original skylights over the main ballroom. Three tier chandeliers and Venetian finish fireplaces are set against the raw industrial shell, and a floor to ceiling mirrored bar anchors one end of the room. A custom champagne wall with brass flute fillers and two chef attended action stations support the reception, and the venue also has a raw bar station. Separate zones handle ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, including the adjoining Stone and Web Lounge for additional gathering space. An on-site hotel, the Switch House Hotel, shares the building for guests staying overnight. The venue opened in 2023 as one of Cescaphe's newer Fishtown properties.
