The Curtis Atrium
Banquet halls in Philadelphia
The Curtis Atrium is the ground floor lobby and atrium of the Curtis Building on Walnut Street in Center City, the former home of Curtis Publishing Company, publisher of the Saturday Evening Post and Ladies' Home Journal. The space is built around a terraced waterfall beneath a soaring skylight, with alabaster columns, a grand marble staircase, and an art deco style waterfall feature framing the main floor. A mezzanine level overlooks the atrium and is used for cocktail hours or smaller daytime gatherings held apart from the main floor. The atrium sits next to the Dream Garden, a large 1916 glass mosaic mural designed by Maxfield Parrish and fabricated by Louis Comfort Tiffany's studio, which remains on view in the building's lobby. Constellation Culinary operates the venue's catering. The combination of the mosaic, the skylight, and the marble architecture gives the space a museum like backdrop for weddings, corporate events, and galas in the heart of Center City.
