The Woodlands

Wedding venues in Philadelphia

60–125 guests
·4000 Woodland Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA

The Woodlands is an eighteenth century estate in West Philadelphia built around the Hamilton Mansion, described by the organization that operates it as one of the oldest examples of Federal architecture in the country. The mansion's event spaces include a drawing room, a circular vestibule, and a main ballroom with a covered portico, and a separate stable building on the property can also be rented as a rustic backdrop for a ceremony or cocktail hour. The 54 acre grounds function as a public garden and historic cemetery today, and the mansion sits within that landscape rather than as a standalone building. The first floor of the mansion is wheelchair accessible, with a portable ramp available for the front steps and accessible restrooms on site, and free on-site parking is available across the grounds. The organization allows licensed bartender service for alcohol and places no noise restriction on DJs or live bands. The Woodlands hosts a small, limited number of weddings each year rather than operating as a high volume event venue.

Great old cemetery with dozens and dozens of huge old mature trees . Some very large memorials , headstones , and vaults . Plenty of trails to take and walk the grounds .

Amazing cemetery. Plenty of really fascinating people buried here, including the Drexel Family and Rembrandt Peale. The snow was a nice touch to the cemetery.
