Zahav
Mediterranean in Philadelphia
Zahav is a modern Israeli restaurant in Society Hill from chef Michael Solomonov, built around a wood burning grill, a hummus bar and a menu centered on grilled meats, salatim and laffa bread. It opened in 2008 and has become one of the most recognized restaurants in the city for its cooking rooted in Israeli and broader Middle Eastern tradition. For private events, Zahav offers two dedicated private rooms sized for a small dinner party or a larger gathering, both served off a chef's tasting menu format with beverages available by consumption. The rooms are used for anniversary dinners, corporate gatherings and celebration meals that want the full tasting menu experience away from the main dining room. Zahav sits on St James Place just off Washington Square, within easy walking distance of Old City and Independence Hall, and remains one of the harder reservations to get in Philadelphia.
