TAO Downtown

TAO Downtown sits below street level at Ninth Avenue and 16th Street in Chelsea, a large restaurant and nightclub designed by Rockwell Group to feel like it has occupied the space for decades. The main dining room serves Pan Asian food beneath a large carved Buddha figure, with a sushi bar and a built in DJ booth and sound system. Beyond the main room, the venue holds several separately bookable spaces: two Skybox rooms overlooking the dining floor that seat up to twenty guests each, a Reclining Buddha lounge near the grand staircase, an Ink Bar with its own full service bar and lounge furniture, and Quan Yin East and West rooms near a second Buddha statue. A connected nightclub can be combined with the restaurant for a larger private takeover. Tao Group runs a dedicated special events sales team across its national venue portfolio and books everything from intimate dinners to full scale private takeovers, backed by an events photo gallery and a 360 degree virtual tour of the space on its own website.
