The Julia Ideson Building is a 1926 Spanish Renaissance style structure in downtown Houston that served as the city's central library before the Houston Public Library Foundation began renting it out for private events. The building accommodates weddings, luncheons and receptions of 25 to 300 guests inside its historic library setting. The Foundation offers a corporate event brochure and a wedding brochure to prospective renters and lists the building alongside its other historic venue rentals, the African American History Research Center at the Gregory School and the Family History Research Center at the Clayton Library campus. Inquiries and rental requests go through the Foundation's venue rentals contact, and the building's formal, early 20th century architecture sets it apart from Houston's newer purpose-built event spaces downtown.
