Wortham Theater Center

The Gus S. Wortham Theater Center anchors Houston's Theater District downtown, a 437,500 square foot performing arts complex that is home to the Houston Ballet and the Houston Grand Opera. Beyond its two main stages, the Alice and George Brown Theater and the Lillie and Roy Cullen Theater, the building includes a six story Grand Foyer, a Green Room and the Founders Salon that Houston First Corporation rents out for corporate events, galas and weddings around the resident companies' performance calendar. The Cullen Theater in particular is used regularly for corporate functions and productions outside opera and ballet seasons. Houston First's events team, which also books the neighboring Jones Hall and George R. Brown Convention Center, manages inquiries for the space. The Wortham and Jones Hall together host around 130 events a year and draw more than 400,000 visitors combined.
