Uchi occupies a converted house on Westheimer Road in Montrose, the Houston outpost of the Austin born sushi and izakaya restaurant known for chef driven small plates and an extensive sake list. Behind the main dining room, Uchi operates a private dining room that can be closed off in half for 12 guests or opened fully for 24, each configuration outfitted with a 56 inch television for chef demonstrations and presentations. A separate room called the Oheya seats up to 13 for a more intimate tasting menu experience. For larger groups, Uchi offers a partial restaurant buyout for up to 40 guests and a full buyout closing the restaurant to the public for up to 140. Every private booking format is submitted through a dedicated private dining request tool on the restaurant's own site, separate from its general table reservation system, and each includes complimentary valet and guest wifi. Uchi Houston also runs public chef led events such as maki rolling classes and wine pairing dinners throughout the year.
